Richard Eaton

Richard has diverse experience gained a barrister (now retired) employed in the private and public sectors, as a lecturer in law, as a health sector affiliated NHS Mediator, as a Director of his own Company and as a Business Mentor. Using this experience, he aims to apply a practical and solution-focused approach when providing the following consultancy services:

Professional & bespoke law training courses, workshops & seminars;

One-to-one Business Mentoring for new small businesses;

Research projects;

Practice Management support – Complementary Medicine;

Richard’s experience is indicative of his enthusiasm to undertake new challenges whether on a full-time or a part-time basis or in an employed or self-employed capacity.

Professional experience of legal practice and as an educator (academic and pastoral), together with further experience gained in business, has enabled Richard to establish his reputation within the local legal, corporate, education and voluntary sectors.

He enjoys working either alone or with others using his analytical and communication skills to create strategies and to resolve problems and disputes.

Richard was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 1982 and is a retired barrister and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX). He has acted as a NEA and a SUL Business Mentor with The Let’s Do Business Group which empowers business in Sussex, Kent and Surrey and provides the widest range of business support services anywhere in the South East of England. He has been registered as a National Enterprise Network business mentor (Training & Accreditation: SFEDI Awards in conjunction with the Institute of Enterprise & Entrepreneurs of which he is a Full Member – MIoEE), as a Mentor with the ‘Passport to Success’  and ‘Momentum‘ schemes managed by the University of Brighton and as a mentor to students of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Over many years, Richard has attained the knowledge and experience described below.

Experience of legal practice as a barrister employed:

  1. In private practice (including the practice of civil and criminal litigation and property law);
  2. By the Crown (as a Crown Prosecutor); and
  3. at The Guildhall in the City of London (as a commercial property lawyer).

In the education sector, he has delivered law training at professional, higher and further education levels.

As a Director of his own Company, Richard has provided consultancy services to the public and private healthcare sectors including in relation to practice management (complementary medicine) and the implementation of dispute resolution and complaints procedures.
